Shopping Guide - Keyboard
The keyboard is a peripheral used for the manual entry of data and commands. It has buttons representing letters, numbers, symbols and other functions, based on the model of keyboard of the old machines to write (QWERTY).
Basically, the keyboards are designed for the writing of texts, but also serve to control some functions of a computer. These keys are connected to a chip inside the keyboard, which identifies the key pressed and sends the information to the PC. The ways of transport of such information between the keyboard and computer can be wireless or cable (PS / 2 and USB).
What is a QWERTY keyboard standard?
This was the term found by the market for the provision of letters on the keyboard. QWERTY is the result of the first six letters in the top row of the keyboard, from left to right.
Why do some keyboards have 105, 109 or more keys? Does that make a difference?
This difference in the amount of keys is based on the keyboard layout: Some have keys for multimedia, and to facilitate access viewing pages of internet. Indeed, all these controls are accessible by software, so it makes no difference.
What are these three lights in the upper right of the keyboard?
One is the "Num Lock" and serves to enable or disable the numeric keypad. The other is the "Caps Lock" which serves to keep the keyboard always with capital letter. Finally the last is the "Scroll Lock" which was used for programming in DOS, in order to change the function of the keys of direction. Today, the "Scroll Lock" hardly exercises any function.
